42 Deaths Recorded In Measles Outbreak In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Government has confirmed that 42 people have died due to measles outbreak in Mubi and Gombi Local Government Areas of the state.

The state Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Felix Tangwame, made this known while speaking to newsmen shortly after the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Yola, on Friday.

He stated that the outbreak affected eight wards in Mubi and seven wards in Gombi, with a death toll of 42 out of 131 and 177 affected persons, respectively

He assured all that steps have been taken to prevent further spread and that the government and its partners are working to control the situation

“Measles vaccines have been released to those areas, and our field teams are containing the situation,” the commissioner said.
