Saha Names Liverpool as Favourites to Win Premier League Next Season
Louis Saha, a former Manchester United striker, has named Liverpool as the team most likely to clinch the Premier League title in the upcoming season. Speaking to Mega Dice, Saha praised Liverpool’s consistency, especially under a new manager following a managerial transition. Liverpool, having been third favorites at the beginning of the season, are now one win away from securing their 20th league title this campaign.
Saha emphasized Liverpool's strong showing this season, despite changes within the team, especially with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah committing their futures to the club with new contracts. He noted that van Dijk has been key to Liverpool's defensive stability, while Salah’s contract extension strengthens the team’s attacking power.
The former French international also pointed out that while Manchester City and Arsenal were early favorites, City has shown signs of struggle, with key players like Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gündogan potentially leaving in the summer. Saha acknowledged that Arsenal, despite being strong contenders, have not managed to break the cycle of finishing second for the third consecutive year, falling short in their bid for the title.
The situation has shifted, and now, with Liverpool’s continued form and stable squad, Saha believes they will be the team to beat in the 2025/2026 season. He added that other clubs like Chelsea still have adjustments to make, and while they’ve had a better-than-expected season, they are still a few steps behind the leaders.
Saha concluded that while Liverpool's future looks bright with their current squad and recent additions, Manchester City will also need to address internal issues if they are to remain competitive. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s long-term ambition remains intact, and with the right adjustments, they could still challenge for the title in future seasons.
