Biafra Nations League, BNL, has cautioned President Mohammadu Buhari not to intimidate any innocent serving National Assembly member of South East, South South, extraction, urging the President to rather present overwhelming evidence to the public that such individual(s) are involved in sponsoring the indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB whose leader, Nnamdi Kanu is in Federal government's detention.

In a statement jointly signed by the National Leader of BNL, Princewill Chimezie Richards, Deputy Leader, Ebuta Akor Takon and Chief of General Staff, Linus Asuquo Essien, BNL warned that it may create more problem for Nigeria especially in the Gulf of Guinea where the group is said to have more presence and Militias loyal to them if President Buhari tries to rubbish anybody from the region in the National Assembly.

The group insists that the Biafran struggle is not sponsored by any politician in Nigeria. BNL stated that Nnamdi Kanu and his group started by receiving free will donations from Biafrans all over the world. Recalling how they started with Kanu in 2013, BNL said that the Biafrans abroad have been doing enough to finance the movement and not those in Nigeria.
