You’ll Fall Like Candy In A Child’s Hand When You're Done—El-Rufai Tells Kaduna Governor

By Damilare Adeleye

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has expressed doubts over the ongoing investigation into his administration by the state House of Assembly.

He said this while celebrating Eid-el-Kabir with his associates in Kaduna State.

He also counselled supporters to avoid a verbal confrontation with the Governor Uba Sani's aide, saying that the governor’s behavior would ultimately lead to his downfall, likening it to a fragile candy that would eventually crumble and fall apart.

“Support the governor and his cabinet members with prayers for them to do the right thing. Don’t feel hurt with what’s going on. When he is done prancing, he ppl will fall off like candy [in a kid’s hand],” he said.

In March, Governor Sani lamented the huge debt inherited from his predecessor, El-Rufai, on May 29, 2023.

Sani said the state was now left with funds not enough to pay salary.

Recently, the Kaduna State House of Assembly asked Governor Uba to stop repaying all the loans collected by the previous government of El-Rufai, found to have been done without due process.

This is part of the recommendations made by an ad hoc committee set up by the House of Assembly headed by Henry Zacharia.
