President Bola Tinubu has donated 7,000 bags of rice to the All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Zamfara State as a "Ramadan package."

The party claimed that the presidential gesture sought to reduce economic hardship among the party members and less-privileged individuals in the state.

Handing over the commodity to the party executives in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, the Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle said that the foodstuff is a personal donation from President Bola Tinubu.

The state Publicity Secretary of the party, Yusuf Idris, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

The statement quoted Matawalle to have stated that the 7000 bags of rice would be distributed freely to targeted beneficiaries, including state executives, local government, and ward executives.

“This gesture is to appreciate the efforts of the APC leadership in the state for their hard work, dedication, and loyalty and making the party stronger and more united,’’ he said.

Seeking for continued understanding, the Minister assured that "as leaders, we will continue to support the party in whatever form to succeed.”

The minister urged party members to continue praying for sustainable peace and stability in the state and the country.

The state Secretary of the party, Ibrahim Dangaladima, thanked President Tinubu and the minister for the "quick food intervention," stating that the free rice came at the right time when people needed urgent food assistance.
